Semantic analysis of the word "Rahim" in the Qur'an in the light of Talmi's theory (case study of Surah Baqarah)

Abstract

Today, cognitive linguistics is one of the useful sciences in explaining the valuable meanings hidden in the verses of the Holy Quran. One of the important debates in this field is the theory of form and context, which was developed by Palmy; The famous American linguist has been mentioned. With its help, it is possible to check the semantic connection between the words of the intervals with the context and context of the verses and gain a deeper understanding of them. One of the prominent divine names is "Rahim", which has a high frequency of repetition in the Holy Quran and is repeated 12 times in Surah Al-Baqarah. The present study tries to explain and discover the existing relationships between the coexistence of this name with names such as "Tawab", "Ghafoor", "Rahman", "Rauf", the reason for the delay of the name "Rahim" over other names, the connection between the context of divine names and the content of the Surah. Baqarah in the light of the theory of "form" and "field" of Talmi. The data analysis shows that the repetition of divine names is influenced by the context and context of each verse and has its own special meaning, and on the other hand, according to the cognitive theory, it shows the importance of their position in relation to each other. In the meantime, the compound nouns "Ghafoor" and "Rahim" have been repeated the most in Surah Al-Baqarah so that their meaning is more established in the hearts of believers ,
